Oral Medicine is a field of clinical dentistry that treats various diseases occurring in the oral and maxillofacial region through medical treatment. Diseases covered in Oral Medicine include temporomandibular disorders, orofacial pain, oral mucosal diseases, xerostomia, halitosis, taste disorders, oral motor disorders, snoring, and sleep apnea. Oral Medicine also covers topics such as the dental management of patients with systemic diseases and the dental application of lasers. In addition, education is provided to cultivate the knowledge and competence required of healthcare professionals through courses such as Forensic Dentistry and Health and Medical Law.
